Balag BálintI build things

Balag Bálint's GitHub avatar: a raccoon

Young entrepreneur from Hungary making softwares, videos and small businesses. I like things that feel good to use.

01What I do

Four rooms, one workshop

These aren't separate careers. Editing taught me pacing, business taught me priorities, and both show up in the code.
01

Software

Small, sharp tools that respect the person using them.

Full-stack web work — mostly TypeScript. I care about the first five seconds of a product: how fast it loads, how obvious it is, how little it asks of you before it becomes useful.

  • Next.js
  • Local-first
  • UI engineering
02

Business

Making the thing is half of it. The other half is making it matter.

I run PuffContent, a creative video editing agency, and I'm building PuffManager to run the operational side of it. Clients, pricing, retention, ops — the unglamorous parts that decide whether a good idea survives.

03

Media

Editing taught me pacing, and pacing is design.

Video editing, motion design and the visual language around it. Most of what I know about rhythm, restraint and holding attention came from a timeline, not a style guide.

  • UI/UX
  • Art direction
04

Experiments

Things built to answer a question, not to launch.

AI and automation wired into real workflows, plus the half-finished ideas that never get a landing page. Some become products. Most just make me better at the next one.

02Selected work

Things I wanted to exist

Each one started as a problem I had personally. Most run entirely in your browser — no account, no server holding your data.

datclean

Clean your photos. Protect your privacy.

Every photo you send carries more than the picture — GPS, device, timestamps. datclean strips metadata and optimises images entirely in your browser, so nothing you're trying to protect ever leaves your machine.

datmotions

Motion graphics, Apple-clean.

A library of premium motion templates you can customise and export as video. Built from the editor's side of the timeline — the presets I kept rebuilding by hand for client work.

datnotes

Write freely, own everything.

Notes without the account, the sync prompt or the quiet data harvest. Your writing stays yours — that's the whole product decision, and everything else follows from it.

datsounds

Find the best sounds for your edits, quick and easy.

Sound discovery built for editors who are three hours into a cut and need the right hit in ten seconds, not a browsing experience.

  • TypeScript
  • Audio

datstart

A premium start page that lives entirely in your browser.

The tab I open a hundred times a day, so it had to be quiet, quick and mine. No server, no account — just local storage and restraint.

  • TypeScript
  • Browser-only

datreserve

Booking, minus the friction.

A booking system for small service businesses who are losing appointments to DMs and a paper calendar. Built after watching exactly that happen.

Travel, old architecture, and rooms with good light. The same taste that goes into the work, just pointed outward.

Got an idea?
I probably want to hear it.

Client work, a project worth building, or something you can't stop thinking about. The short version is fine.
